Hole 1/10Scenic VistaPar 5

Hole 1/10: Scenic Vista.

Blue: 502 / White: 458 / Gold: 410

Our first hole is a straight away par 5, somewhat challenging, with woods on the right and homes to the left. The tee is elevated from Blue (502), White (458), or Gold (410) to the hole. You will be hitting onto an elevated green that is fronted by 3 traps. No problem shooting a little long on this one.

Hole 2/11

Plateau

Par 5

Hole 2/11: Plateau.

Blue: 320 / White: 312 / Gold: 250

Hole 2 is a slight Dog Leg to the right, with woods on the right. Hitting up hill, you will want to keep the ball in play on this one. You won’t necessarily need your driver but you are going to want to put something out there that will keep you safe, as in a long iron or fairway wood. The ladies tee has a definite advantage as you can see the green for this tee box. The Green is elevated. Be sure to turn around to look back, as you can see down into the first hole. You will be passing the White Horse Ledge and on to Cathedral at this point. You will want to hit a high approach into this green. She’s fast. You are going to think that you have breaks on this hole while putting… but beware… it will not break maybe as much as you are expecting. It does slope a bit back to front.

Hole 3/12

Covered Bridge

Par 3

Hole 3/12: Covered Bridge.

Blue: 155 / White: 148 / Gold: 90/140

From the front tees (90 yards) the pond will not come into play. You will have a clear shot over. Every thing on this tee shot will want to break right down to the woods… where the bears live. It is a bit of a tricky green…good challenging par three that is a bit tough to hit … do not be afraid to fade the left side of this green. There is a sand trap in the back if you use too much club.

Hole 4/13

Bear’s Brook

Par 4

Hole 4/13: Bear’s Brook.

Blue: 291 / White: 256 / Gold: 234

It is drive able if you are accurate. Looks like an easy hole but…do not be lulled. You might want to resist using your driver unless you have a very accurate drive shot. Consider a mid- iron to get out to the 100 yard mark. This green slopes back with a brook in the back. Play a high shot into the 4th green.

Hole 5/14

Moat View

Par 5

Hole 5/14: Covered Bridge.

Blue: 495 / White: 468 / Gold: 452

Tee shots tends to drift to the right… there are traps on both the right and left sides… if you can keep this one straight down the middle… you stand a good chance of pulling out a birdie. Hitting into this green there is a shallow bunker on the left and a deeper one on the right so watch out for your third shot. Be sure to take out enough club, hit a high iron, they tend to run to the back. The green is pretty true.

Hole 6/15

Birches

Par 3

Hole 6/15: Birches.

Blue: 136 / White: 130 / Gold: 121

Our pro suggests to add another 5- 10 yards onto this hole, reason being: is that it is all carry. Traps in the front. You are hitting onto a green that you can not see the full front.. almost a tricky green. There is more room between he trap and the green than you realize. Try taking an extra club on this one.

Hole 7/16

Fox Run

Par 4

Hole 7/16: Fox Run.

Blue: 361 / White: 334 / Gold: 311

Pro tip: Hit a mid iron or fairway wood, get it down to the 150 yard marker. Many players end up out of bounds because of the homes that line this fairway. It is not really a difficult hole, as long as you follow the pro’s tips. Traps come into play on the right and left with your tee shot. You are hitting down into the green. You will hit one less club than you think because you are hitting down hill. There are a couple of more traps both right and left at this green. The green hold true.

Hole 8/17

White Horse

Par 4

Hole 8/17: White Horse.

Blue: 391 / White: 368 / Gold: 323

Nice hole , straight out. This really is one of Hales signature holes. You are looking straight out at Cathedral Ledge, amazing views and flowers on the tee box. Stately homes on left and right. On the right side, tall pine trees will come into play but will help you keep the ball in play. Left side has a bunker. On approaching the green there are two sand traps on the left but the right side is open. So you will want to play your approach shot to the right side. The green is uphill so give it a little more when putting from the front. This can be a very difficult hole when the pin is in the back.

Hole 9/18

Ledge View

Par 4

Hole 9/18: Ledge View.

Blue: 374 / White: 342 / Gold: 267

Great views, White Horse Ledge to the left, and Cathedral Ledge straight ahead. Nice view of the Hotel. The right side gives you a little more room. Lots of woods on the left that are not out of bounds. There is a fairway bunker that won’t be a problem for the long hitters. But beware those of you who do not hit it as far. If you hit over 230 the trees will come into play as it does narrow up. But if you can keep this one up the middle you will have a nice little wedge or 9 iron to the green. Elevated green with traps on the right and left front. Be sure to take that extra club as you are hitting uphill. No out of bound beyond the green. Sloped green the goes from the back to the front.
